About
Why this site exists
Because the search results for 'does Medicare pay for a walk-in tub' are full of ads, and the people typing it are scared and in a hurry.
Aging in Place Remodelers is a small, independent publisher and matching service run by OKNH LLC, a family business. The founder is a licensed health and life insurance agent who has spent years explaining Medicare Advantage benefits to families, and a partner in a home care agency that sees every week what a bathroom without grab bars does to a family. The guides on this site come from that work.
How we make money
Homeowners never pay us. Remodelers who want to be the only certified aging-in-place remodeler we send requests to in their county pay a flat monthly fee. That fee does not change what we write, which upgrades we recommend, or whether we tell you that a program does not exist. We publish our editorial standards so you can hold us to them.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with Medicare, Medicaid, the Department of Veterans Affairs, AARP, the National Association of Home Builders, or any government agency. We do not sell walk-in tubs or any product. We are not a contractor and we do not do the work. We match you with a remodeler who does, and you decide whether to hire them.
Where we work, and local guides
Matching works anywhere in the United States: a person on our team reads each request and hands it to a certified aging-in-place remodeler serving that area by phone. The guides are written for every state. Our local guides start with Florida, which has the highest share of residents 65 and over of any large state, then California, Maryland, Utah, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Texas and Arizona, and the cities and communities where the most older adults live.
