Terms
Terms of service
Effective October 12, 2026. Using the site or sending a request means you agree to these terms. Please read the dispute section; it affects your rights.
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and OKNH LLC (“we”, “us”), PO Box 216, 7 E Frederick St, Walkersville, MD 21793, the operator of aginginplaceremodelers.com (the “site”). Our privacy policy, cookie policy and how matching works page are part of these terms.
2. Who may use the site
You must be 18 or older. If you send a request on behalf of a parent, spouse or client, you confirm that you have their permission to share their information with us and with the matched remodeler.
3. The guides
The articles on the site are general information about home modifications and the ways people pay for them. They are not medical, legal, tax, insurance or construction advice for your situation, and reading them does not create a professional relationship. Cost figures are national estimates from the sources listed on each page; they are not quotes and not a promise of what your project will cost. Benefit rules change and differ by plan, state and county; the program’s own documents govern. Confirm anything you rely on with the doctor, the occupational therapist, the insurer, the agency or a licensed contractor.
4. The matching service
- What it is. When you send a request, we pass it to one licensed remodeler serving your area, once matched, so they can contact you. The service is free for homeowners and families.
- What it is not. We are not a contractor, a licensed design professional, an insurance agent or a government agency. We do not perform, estimate, supervise or warrant any work, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a remodeler.
- Remodelers are independent. We check that remodelers hold the state licence they claim and carry insurance when they join, and we remove remodelers who break our rules, but we do not control their work, pricing, schedule or conduct, and we do not guarantee any of it. Get a written quote and a written contract, verify the licence at your state’s licensing board, and never pay in full up front.
- No guarantee of a match. A remodeler may not be available in every area. We may decline, close or delay any request, and we may change or withdraw the service at any time.
5. Consent to be contacted
When you tick the box under the request form you give the matched remodeler your prior express written consent to call and text the number you provided, including with automated technology, about your project. That consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can withdraw it at any time as described on the how matching works page. Standard message and data rates may apply.
6. Your responsibilities
Give accurate information and keep it current. Do not submit requests you do not intend, requests for someone without their permission, or more than one request for the same project to game a remodeler. Do not scrape, copy, mirror, probe or load-test the site, interfere with its operation, or use it to send unsolicited messages. Do not submit anything unlawful, defamatory or infringing.
7. Remodelers
Remodelers join the network under a separate written agreement covering territories, fees, lead handling, consent compliance and licensing. Nothing on the public site is an offer to any remodeler, and an application is not an acceptance.
8. Our content
The guides, photographs, logo, icons, design and code on the site belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, print and share links for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, sell or use our content to train or build another service without our written permission. “Aging in Place Remodelers” and the roof logo are our marks.
9. Third parties
The site links to government agencies, programs, licensing boards and other sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
10. Disclaimers
The site and the matching service are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and any warranty about the work, licensing or conduct of any remodeler.
11. Limits of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the guides or the matching service, including anything a remodeler does or fails to do. Where the law does not allow that exclusion, our total liability for all claims is capped at one hundred US dollars. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from information you submit, a request you send on someone else’s behalf without permission, or your breach of these terms.
13. Disputes
- Talk to us first. Email hello@aginginplaceremodelers.com with a description of the problem. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
- Arbitration. If we cannot, any dispute arising from these terms or the site will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, by video or telephone or in the county where you live, with the Federal Arbitration Act governing this section. Either side may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court.
- No class actions. Claims are brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated or representative proceeding.
- Opt out. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@aginginplaceremodelers.com or writing to PO Box 216, 7 E Frederick St, Walkersville, MD 21793 within 30 days of first using the site, with your name and the words “arbitration opt-out”.
- Governing law. These terms are governed by United States federal law and the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your state of residence gives you protections that cannot be waived.
14. Messages from us
We email you about the request you sent and reply to messages you send us. If we ever send marketing email, every message will carry an unsubscribe link that works within ten business days, and we will never sell or rent your address. Text messages, where offered, follow the consent and STOP rules on the how matching works page.
15. Accessibility
We build the site to WCAG 2.2 AA (large type, high contrast, keyboard access) because many readers are over 70. If something is hard to use, email hello@aginginplaceremodelers.com and we will fix it or help you another way.
16. The rest
We may change these terms by posting a new version with a new effective date; continued use after that is acceptance. If a term is unenforceable, the rest stand. We may suspend or end your use of the site at any time for breach. These terms, with the policies named in section 1, are the whole agreement between us about the site. Questions: hello@aginginplaceremodelers.com.
